FirstCare Announcements

• Wrap Network Change Effective April 1 -   As of April 1, 2012, the PHCS Network will be FirstCare’s sole wrap network, replacing Texas True Choice and Beech Street. PHCS is the largest primary PPO in the nation with broad access to more than 4,200 hospitals, 70,000 ancillary care facilities, and 630,000 health care professionals. We will be mailing new member ID cards in March to all FirstCare members and notifying them of the wrap network change. This change is for HMO, PPO, and self-funded business only; government programs is not impacted.
•  FirstCare Partners with Emdeon to Offer EFT Services Starting March 1 - We are pleased to announce that FirstCare Health Plans has contracted with Emdeon to deliver electronic funds transfer (EFT) services. Effective March 1, 2012, EFT services for FirstCare providers will be handled by Emdeon. Pre-enrollment for this service is now available. If you are an existing EFT customer with Emdeon and wish to add FirstCare, please call 1-866-506-2830 and select Option 1 to speak with an enrollment representative or log in to the Emdeon website to configure your account for FirstCare’s electronic payments.
• Attention Providers: STAR Expansion Coming to Lubbock Service Area - Effective September 1, 2011, STAR (Medicaid Managed Care) is expanding into the following six counties in the Lubbock Region: Carson, Deaf Smith, Hutchinson, Potter, Randall, and Swisher.  For more information, please read our STAR Expansion Announcement.
